Name: Littlepaw
Canon: Warriors OC
Canon Point: The night he slept in Midnight's den
Age: Actual age is ~2 years old (he is a cat); apparent age is <1 year
Background: The Prophecies Begin // Scourge
Littlepaw is an OC from a private WCRP storyline in which several historic cats, mostly from The Prophecies Begin, are reincarnated during an end-of-days scenario. Littlepaw is one of these reincarnated cats, born as Scrap in the remnants of BloodClan in Twolegplace and bearing both the likeness and memories of Scourge, the original leader of BloodClan. Sparkpaw (Firestar), Lichenpaw (Tallstar), and Swiftpaw (Swiftpaw) travel from their home in WindClan to seek out Scrap after discovering that some of their enemies have also reincarnated in one final bid for power between StarClan and the Dark Forest, including Scourge's fellow unaligned antagonist, Sol.
Scrap, however, is hardly even a shadow of the cold, revenge-hungry leader Scourge was. His memories torment him in night terrors that leave him even more fearful than Tiny was before he became Scourge. When he meets with Sparkpaw and his friends, Scrap is easily persuaded to support them, desperate for any kind of absolution from the guilt he has developed from his nightmares. After some discussion, the team agrees that Scrap will go to ShadowClan to help his new friends keep an eye on it, as ShadowClan has historically been the most vulnerable Clan to Dark Forest influences.
In ShadowClan, the newly-appointed Ratstar eagerly welcomes Scrap into ShadowClan's ranks alongside several other non-Clan cats, as ShadowClan recently suffered great losses in a war with WindClan during the cold season. Scrap is given the Clan name of Littlepaw and apprentices to Barkheart, a suspiciously familiar-looking stern brown tabby warrior. Despite his likeness to Tigerstar, however, Barkheart is a kind and patient mentor who quickly becomes a close confidant and father figure to Littlepaw. As Sparkpaw and his other friends in WindClan contend with their own struggles with a corrupt leader and the persistent obstacle of Twistfur (Sol), Littlepaw's warrior training is comparatively peaceful, save for the persistent night terrors that ShadowClan's medicine cat, Tansyflower, does her best to soothe. He forms a tight friendship with his fellow outsider apprentices, and when the stars begin to disappear and the truth of the crisis the Clans face becomes clear, Littlepaw is able to lead his friends in ShadowClan to the aid of the heroes in WindClan. He, Russetpaw, Crashpaw, and Rumblepaw join up with Sparkpaw, Lichenspring, and Swiftheart with Ratstar's and Tansyflower's blessings to find a new place to communicate directly with StarClan. Their journey leads them across large swathes of unfamiliar territory until they find the now-empty den of the wise badger, Midnight. While resting there, Sparkpaw and Swiftheart meet StarClan in their dreams and receive a prophecy that tells of a new home across the sea where the night sky shines like the sun.
After returning to ShadowClan with word of the prophecy, Littlepaw and his fellow apprentices are rewarded with full warrior names: Littlebloom, Russetclaw, Crashtail, and Rumblefoot. What follows this small triumph is an even greater struggle to resolve the tensions between the Clans and to convince all of their leaders to undertake this perilous and vague quest to cross the ocean, while the Dark Forest begins to set their counter-measures into motion.
Character Summary: In his muddled memory-dreams, Littlepaw does terrible things, heartlessly murdering desperate strangers and crushing all of BloodClan's foes. Sometimes he dreams of Tigerclaw, the Clan cat who so severely terrified Tiny so long ago and set his own fate in motion. Despite having lived his own life separate from these dreams, Littlepaw struggles to separate them from himself and harbors deep disgust and guilt over the things he has had to watch himself do so many times. Having lived with such a heavy conscience from such a young age, he's every bit the mousy, skittish little cat he seems to be at a glance, easily startled and often lost in thought.
That said, he also yearns deeply for companionship and hates to be alone, and so will make every clumsy effort to find friends or even small talk. Despite his fearful disposition, Littlepaw is also quite brave when it comes to facing the unknown; people frighten him much more than travel or even violence, so long as he feels like he has some amount of control over the situation. It won't stop him from stammering and babbling, of course, but he can and will undertake rather remarkable feats with minimal hesitation if he feels enough of a righteous motivation for it.
Powers: By virtue of being a cat, Littlepaw has retractable claws on all four paws, a tail to aid in balancing, no opposable digits, whiskers, keen ears and nose, and eyes capable of seeing better in darkness than a human. He has no remarkable abilities a cat on Earth couldn't have, however.
